How My Brother’s Cancer Was Trigger for Me to Become an Intermittent Faster.

Today July 7, 2020, is my big brother's birthday. We love you Boochie! He kept badgering me to get on Facebook. He would have been 54 years old today. That's me and my mom there in the pic wearing our BOOCHIE BIRTHDAY GEAR.

Boochie's lung cancer was one of the motivations for my family to make some serious lifestyle changes.

For instance ...

My mom has cut down on her smoking and is trying to quit. She eats mostly fish. Some chicken. She has cut down on deli meats and soda. She has cut down on sugar and processed foods. In her coffee she replaced powder creamer with plant based milks.

My hubby and I are #pescatarian, basically we are vegans who eat seafood.

We both count calories. #caloriecounting #caloriedeficit

He has lost about 12 to 15 pounds since quarantine.

I have been an intermittent faster since April 2020. Each day, I eat during an 8-hour window. And I fast for the remaining 16 hours. Because of that I have lost 32.6 pounds in last 13 weeks. #intermittentfasting

Okay Boochie you wanted me to get on FB. It took your death for me to finally do it. And to honor you, I am on FB to share my health and fitness journey with anyone who is ready to hear it. I want all of us to take our health into our own hands because our loved ones do not want to lose us too soon because of our lifestyle choices. Each day I document my journey on Instagram @kimosphere. Please check it out.

Now back to the rest of the family...

My two 30-something daughters are vegan/vegetarian.

My 16 year old daughter eats a gluten free diet.

We all use our living room as our makeshift gym and work with weights, Chloe Ting, Les Mills Body Combat, Les Mill's Body Attack, Les Mill's Body Combat, Fitness Marshall, Pilates, Yoga and Barre. We all walk for exercise and my hubby rides his mountain bike.
